What is BMMB i-MSecure?

BMMB i-MSecure is a new solution designed by Bank Muamalat to authorise transactions, offering a more effective alternative to the traditional SMS OTP/TAC system. In July 2023, BMMB seamlessly integrated this feature within the i-Muamalat application for enhanced user convenience and security.

The BMMB i-MSecure system employs advanced technology to validate transactions, ensuring a higher level of security for BMMB customers.

This system is designed to eliminate the vulnerabilities associated with SMS OTP/TAC systems, such as interception or retrieval of OTPs by unauthorized individuals.

By incorporating this feature into the i-Muamalat application, BMMB not only enhances the security of its services but also simplifies the transaction process for its users.

Customers can now authorize transactions directly from the app, without the need for SMS codes. This innovation underscores BMMB’s commitment to provide secure and convenient banking solutions for its customers.

How to activate BMMB i-MSecure?

To active this new BMMB i-MSecure, follow this gide:

1. Open your web browser and visit the Bank Muamalat website. You can easily do this by typing in the BMMB URL at https://i-muamalat.com.my.
2. Once the website loads, look for the login section. Enter your registered username and password to access your account.
3. After successfully logging in, navigate to the ‘Settings‘ menu.
4. Select ‘Security Menu‘ from the list of options in the dropdown.
5. In the ‘Security Menu‘, locate the ‘i-MSecure Token Registration Menu‘ and click on it.
6. Click on the ‘Register‘ button.
7. A confirmation page will pop up and an SMS TAC (Transaction Authentication Code) will be sent to your registered mobile number.
8. Enter the received TAC code in the designated field and click ‘SUBMIT‘.
9. Verify your updated status by clicking on the ‘i-MSecure Token Registration Menu‘ once more.
10. After verification, scan the displayed QR code to bind your smartphone with i-MSecure.
11. For this, open the i-Muamalat Mobile App but do not log in. Instead, tap on the i-MSecure icon.
12. Once the QR code is scanned, you will be asked to input your Username, Password, and TAC code.
13. After filling in these details, click ‘CONFIRM‘ to finish your registration and activation.
14. Note that after completing the i-MSecure registration, a 12-hour ‘Cooling-off‘ period or activation period will begin.
15. You won’t be able to authorise any online transactions or activities during this time.
16. This period begins immediately after the registration process is completed.
17. Done.

And that’s it! You’ve successfully activated your BMMB i-MSecure.
